This is the story of a crime. Of several crimes. Of transgressions and sins, disguises and secrets, of men and women who mistreat themselves in their desperate struggle to escape from themselves. It is also the story of a tumultuous search for the meanings to lusophone identity in a world in convulsion in the new millennium. From a premonitory trip through Europe in September 2001 to the errancy over the planet during the following years – from Brazil to Argentina, from Africa to India – the narrator calls the existential tragedy of Tiago Penha to observe the tragedies of the others, a gallery of solitary figures with homicidal and punitive instincts based on a pathologic moral order. A demential and eschatological narrative founded on a sinister love affair.

É a história de um crime. De vários crimes. De transgressões e pecados, de disfarces e segredos, de homens e mulheres que se maltratam na luta desesperada para fugirem de si próprios. É também a história de uma tumultuosa busca de sentidos para a identidade lusófona num mundo em convulsão no novo milénio. De uma viagem premonitória pela Europa em Setembro de 2001 à errância pelo planeta nos anos seguintes – do Brasil à Argentina, de África à India – o narrador convoca a tragédia existencial de Tiago Penha para observar as tragédias dos outros, uma galeria de figuras solitárias com instintos homicidas e punitivos, instauradores de uma ordem moral patológica. Uma narrativa demencial e escatológica espoletada por um sinistro caso de amor.
